Taylor Swift and the AMA’s message that generates excitement among fans and fuels speculation

As anticipation builds for the return of the American Music Awards (AMAs), speculation around one name in particular has reached a fever pitch – Taylor Swift. Will the Eras Tour sensation be at the event?

With just five days remaining until the live broadcast from Las Vegas, this year’s AMAs mark the first ceremony since 2022, and the 35-year-old is once again at the forefront of the nominations list.

Travis Kelce confidently shows off his hairy back during an intense offseason workout session

She is up for six awards, including the coveted Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for her record-breaking release The Tortured Poets Department, and her recent commercial success and critical acclaim have made her a strong favorite to add to her already historic AMA track record.

Will Swift attend the AMAs?

Suitcases, stories, and a spiralling staircase: A look inside Rotterdam’s new migration museum

On Wednesday, the AMAs’ official social media account posted a nostalgic tribute that reignited excitement-and speculation.

The post featured a nod to Swift‘s early days, drawing a direct line from her 2008 self to her now-unmatched legacy at the AMAs.

“Who’s going to tell 2008 @taylorswift13 that she’d one day hold the title for most #AMAs wins in history?? (40 wins!!!),” the AMAs posted to X.com, formerly Twitter.”

But while clearly intended to celebrate her unprecedented success streak, the message had an unintended consequence by igniting fan theories about her possible appearance at this year’s show.

The post quickly went viral, drawing hundreds of comments from her passionately devoted fanbase, known as Swifties.

One fan replied, “Is she going?????? What do you know?”

A second said, “what are you keeping from us?!?!”

And a third wrote, “what do. you. know.”

This surge of online activity has not gone unnoticed by media outlets and fans alike, who are reading the AMAs’ tribute as a hint that Swift might be preparing for a surprise appearance. But is it true?

The star’s potential presence at the ceremony would be a headline moment on its own. However, the possibility that she might attend with her partner, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, has only added to the intrigue.

The couple has maintained a relatively private profile in recent months, they have been spotted together sporadically, enough to keep the rumor mill alive, and the AMAs have long been known for their star-studded guest lists and memorable performances.

A Swift-Kelce appearance would undoubtedly draw attention and generate major media coverage, offering excellent exposure for the awards ceremony, particularly after months of public silence from the couple.

But, ultimately, whether or not Swift will walk the red carpet this Monday remains uncertain. Yet, one thing is clear: with the AMAs returning to the spotlight, and Swift once again dominating nominations, excitement is reaching new heights.

The 51st American Music Awards will be hosted on Monday, May 26 and will be live to watch on CBS. The event is due to start at 20:00 ET/17:00 PT. Streaming is available at Paramount+.

Former MLB player suing Reds for unsafe field conditions that led to career-ending injury

Getty Images Former MLB player Darin Ruf's saw his career end after a knee injury he suffered in Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park in 2023. Now, two years later, he's suing the Reds. Ruf ran into what the lawsuit says was an unpadded, metal tarp roller on June 2, 2023. It would be the last major-league game of his career. He returned more than three months later in Triple-A to appear in seven games before his professional career ended. Ruf's lawsuit accuses the Reds of negligence in failing to maintain safe field conditions, citing negligent and "reckless" conduct from the grounds crew to leave the tarp in such fashion. "This didn't need to happen," Ruf said in a statement (via AP). "I wish it didn't happen. Players shouldn't have to worry about hidden hazards like that on a major league field." Per Ruf's complaint, he […]

Realigned Phillies bullpen finds its footing in 5 days following José Alvarado suspension

DENVER — Now the longest-tenured man in the Phillies bullpen, Matt Strahm did not have a speech to make. There wasn’t much to utter in the wake of José Alvarado’s 80-game suspension that both weakened the bullpen and elevated it to the unit that will face the highest scrutiny as spring becomes summer.AdvertisementThere is so much baseball left; all anyone can be certain of is that the Phillies’ bullpen mix will likely not be the same come July or October. But this is who they have right now. It has to work.“That’s kind of always been the mindset of this bullpen since I’ve been in it,” Strahm said. “You look back to the ’23 bullpen. Scott Foster gets bloody nose after Lu Dort accidentally hits veteran NBA referee in Thunder-Wolves Game 2

Getty Images Game 1 of the Western Conference finals matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves was plenty physical, as would be expected between two of the NBA's most rugged, talented teams deep into the postseason. And early in Game 2, a referee got caught in the fray, too. Veteran referee Scott Foster got kicked by Julius Randle and hit in the face by Luguentz Dort -- both accidental -- as the two competed for a jump ball. Foster received some medical attention as the game took an unexpected pause just 93 seconds in. He returned without missing any game time, but the game was delayed for a few minutes. Foster, 58, has been an NBA referee since 1994-95 and, in turn, has become one of the sport's most recognized officials. Thursday's game in Oklahoma City marked his 261st […]
