Branislav Ignjatovic (58), Trainer von Zweitligist Gießen 46ers, holte nach dem dramatischen Aus im Play-off-Halbfinale gegen Science City zum Rundumschlag aus. Der Serbe nagelte munter gegen die Schiedsrichter und die Liga.
Ignjatovic: „Ich fühle mich betrogen!“
Was ihn auf die Zinne brachte, war die aus seiner Sicht dürftige Leistung des Referee-Trios mit Milutin Jelenic an der Spitze. Ignjatovic: „Ich habe nicht mal gemerkt, dass Maximilian Meier der zweite Schiri war, denn der erste Schiri hat sich komplett versteckt. Alle wichtigen Entscheidungen hat sein Kollege übernommen. Mit einem Ziel, das nur er kennt …“

Gleich im ersten Viertel kassierte Gießens Trainer ein technisches Foul, weil er ein unsportliches Foul gegen Jena anzeigte. „Ohne etwas zu kommentieren, nur gezeigt – und er dreht sich rum und zeigt ein T“, sagt Ignjatovic. Minuten später sei die gleiche Situation auf der Jenaer Bank zu beobachten gewesen. „Und da dreht er sich weg …“
Der erfahrene Trainer knallhart: „Ich fühle mich betrogen. Ich hätte gern das fünfte Spiel gehabt – und das hätten wir uns auch verdient.“
Was er nicht versteht: „Die Liga entwickelt sich von Jahr zu Jahr, aber die Schiedsrichter bleiben auf dem gleichen, schlechten Level.“ In den vergangenen Wochen haben seine Gießener drei E-Mails zu diesem Thema an die Liga geschickt. „Aber niemand hält es für nötig, uns irgendeine Antwort zu geben.“

Einmal in Rage legte Ignjatovic gleich noch ein anderes Thema nach: Die vier Spiele im Play-off-Halbfinale wurden binnen acht Tagen angesetzt. „Weder Jena noch wir spielen ein Final-Four oder in der Euro-League, wir stellen auch niemanden zur Nationalmannschaft ab. Da muss mir einer mal erklären, warum wir unsere Athleten alle zwei Tage in den Ring schicken.“
Tatsächlich wurden die Partien im 48-Stunden-Rhythmus angesetzt. Zeit für Regeneration blieb da höchstens im Mannschaftsbus. „Die Spieler sind auch Menschen und die Verletzungsgefahr ist so groß“, sagt Ignjatovic.

Das Problem sei die Realitätsferne der Funktionäre: „Jeder, der irgendwann mal eine kurze Hose anhatte, weiß, was für ein Verschleiß ist. Viele denken, die gehen in die Halle und spielen ein bisschen Basketball. Aber das ist einer der schwierigsten Jobs, die es gibt. Aber mit wem willst du darüber reden …“
