Moderatorin Jana Wosnitza (31) sollte den Pokal für den Sieger eigentlich per Fallschirm-Sprung aus 4000 Metern nach Berlin bringen. So wäre sie mit dem Skydiver Marco Fürst im Tandem eingeschwebt. Dies war in Anlehnung an die Eröffnung der Olympischen Spiele von London 2012 gedacht gewesen. Das Flugzeug mit den beiden wäre vom Flugplatz Fehrbellin abgehoben.
[–>Doch eine Kaltwetter-Front mit heftigen Winden von 40 bis 55 km/h macht dem Ganzen einen Strich durch die Rechnung. Diese Bedingungen machen den Sprung zu gefährlich. Als Tandem ist man mit 30 bis 45 km/h unterwegs. Die beiden wären also weggepustet worden.
Wosnitza bedauert die Absage, weil sie damit eine Familien-Tradition weitergeführt hätte: „Ein Fallschirmsprung stand nie auf meiner ,Bucket List‘. Ich hätte das nie freiwillig in Erwägung gezogen. Obwohl mein Papa begeisterter Fallschirmspringer war. Wir waren, bis ich circa neun Jahre alt war, nahezu jedes Wochenende auf einem Flugplatz und er ist gesprungen. Sogar bei Meisterschaften. Ich saß unten und habe meinem Papa mit dem Fernglas zugeschaut, wie er gesprungen ist.“

Und: „Als ich ihm von unserem Wetter-Dilemma und Windstärke sechs geschrieben habe, schrieb er mir nur: ‚NICHT MEHR SPRINGEN! Auf keinen Fall. Bei dem Wind geht man höchstens Kitesurfen.‘ Trotzdem ist es natürlich schade. Ich hatte mich überwunden. Ich hatte Vertrauen. Die Icon League lässt einen verrückte Dinge machen. Schade, es wäre ein sensationelles Opening geworden.“
Und nun? Jetzt wollen sich die Organisatoren etwas anderes einfallen lassen, um die Trophäe in Szene zu setzen. Im Vorjahr wog der Pokal noch mehr als 17 Kilogramm, mehr als der Europa-League-Pokal (15 Kilo). Jetzt wurden mehr als sechs Kilo Gewicht entfernt, damit er besser hochgestemmt werden kann.
Am Sonntag treten die besten acht Teams ab 16 Uhr im „Final 8“ in Berlin um diesen Pokal an. Unter anderem ist der Wontorriors FC von Moderatorin Laura Wontorra dabei. Vorrunden-Erster ist DNA Athletics von Real-Madrid-Profi David Alaba und Niklas-Wilson Sommer. Es gibt Viertel- und Halbfinale sowie das Endspiel an einem Tag.
