Superstürmer Harry Kane (31) hat den schwierigsten Gegenspieler in seiner Karriere genannt – und die Wahl des Engländers fiel auf John Terry (44).
Im Gespräch mit dem Portal „Goal“ wurden dem Bayern-Star acht Innenverteidiger-Granaten vorgestellt, gegen die er in seiner Karriere gespielt hat: Van Dijk, Sergio Ramos, Gerard Piqué, Antonio Rüdiger, John Terry, Rúben Dias, Giorgio Chiellini und Mats Hummels.

Die Entscheidung zwischen den beiden Verteidigern fiel dem Stürmer nicht leicht: „Uh, das ist schwer. Gegen beide war es schwierig.“ Doch letztlich entschied sich Kane für Terry.
Schon 2023 hatte Kane von Terry geschwärmt. Bei ESPN sagte er: „Früh in meiner Karriere habe ich gegen ihn gespielt und er war einer der besten Verteidiger der Welt.“ Vor allem seine Cleverness habe ihn auf dem Feld ausgezeichnet, meinte Kane: „Er war wirklich intelligent.“
Dabei lässt sich Kanes Bilanz gegen Terry eigentlich sehen. Zwischen 2014 und 2016 spielten die beiden viermal gegeneinander. Dabei gelangen Kane drei Tore und zwei Assists. Allerdings: Bei den Duellen konnten den Spurs nur einen Sieg einfahren.

In seiner langen Karriere stand Terry in 717 Spielen für Chelsea auf dem Platz, gewann mit dem Verein 2012 die Champions League und 2013 die Europa League. Dazu kommen noch fünf englische Meisterschaften. Für die Nationalmannschaft machte Terry 78 Spiele, bis er 2012 seine Karriere bei den Three Lions beendete.
