Cunha sagt Ja zum Chaos-Klub!
Matheus Cunha (25) wechselt von den Wolverhampton Wanderers zu Manchester United! Laut Transfer-Guru Fabrizio Romano ist der Transfer in trockenen Tüchern.

Cunha sagt „Ja“ zu United, obwohl der Klub aktuell tief in der Krise steckt. In der abgelaufenen Saison verpassten die Red Devils die Qualifikation für die Champions League. In der Europa League setzte es eine bittere 0:1-Finalpleite gegen Tottenham – und trotzdem: Cunha kommt!
Der Brasilianer entschied sich trotz mehrerer Angebote für das Gesamtpaket aus Manchester. Schon vorher war durchgesickert, dass Cunha auch ohne Königsklasse unbedingt für United spielen will.
Seine Premier-League-Bilanz kann sich sehen lassen: In der Saison 2024/25 traf er 15 Mal, dazu sechs Assists! Nun soll er bei United der stockenden Offensive neue Impulse geben.
Cunha ist kein Unbekannter: In Deutschland spielte er bereits für RB Leipzig und Hertha BSC, später bei Atlético Madrid. In Wolverhampton reifte er zum Leistungsträger – jetzt folgt der nächste Karriereschritt.
Der Deal macht Cunha zum teuersten Abgang der Vereinsgeschichte der Wolves und katapultiert ihn in die Top 10 der teuersten United-Transfers – knapp hinter dem siebtplatzierten Ángel Di María (75 Mio.).

Auch im internationalen Ranking der teuersten Karrieren klettert Cunha weit nach oben. Viermal wechselte er bis jetzt für Geld den Verein, schraubte dabei seine Ablöse jedes Mal in die Höhe. Manchester wird seine fünfte Station. Mit nun insgesamt rund 192 Mio. Euro an gezahlten Ablösen liegt er etwa vor Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappé oder Zlatan Ibrahimović.
