Und dafür rüstet der Klub auf. Der deutsche Nationalspieler Florian Wirtz (22) steht vor einem Wechsel von Bayer Leverkusen an die Anfield Road. Ablöse: rund 150 Millionen Euro.
Slot sprach am Rande der Meister-Feierlichkeiten über die Transfer-Planungen des Klubs, sagte: „Wir wollen einfach die besten Spieler. Idealerweise verpflichtet man sie so früh, wie es geht. Der Noch-Leverkusener soll sich für einen Wechsel in die Premier League entschieden haben – und damit auch gegen einen Wechsel zum deutschen Meister FC Bayern sowie zu den Königlichen von Real Madrid. Auch Manchester City mit Trainer Pep Guardiola hatte um den deutschen Nationalspieler gekämpft.
