A seleção brasileira foi convocada pela primeira vez sob o comando de Carlo Ancelotti, treinador multicampeão na Europa. Nesta primeira lista, tivemos o retorno de alguns nomes que não vinham sendo mais chamados, como Richarlison, Casemiro, Antony e Danilo, agora zagueiro do Flamengo. A presença do defensor flamenguista, porém, foi alvo de críticas por parte de Galvão Bueno.
Durante o programa “Galvão e Amigos”, exibido pela Band, o histórico narrador relembrou que o próprio jogador já admitiu publicamente que só pensava em construir uma história no Flamengo neste momento, já deixando a seleção de lado, entendendo que o ciclo havia encerrado. O apresentador, então, também entende que já teria terminado a sua trajetória com a camisa do Brasil. Vale destacar que Danilo disputou duas Copas do Mundo, em 2018 e 2022, ambas com o técnico Tite.

Além de Danilo, o técnico Carlo Ancelotti levou outros quatro jogadores do Flamengo: Alex Sandro, Léo Ortiz, Wesley e Gerson. Fora os flamenguistas, há também o goleiro Hugo Souza, do Corinthians, e Estêvão, do Palmeiras. E para Galvão Bueno, é natural ter poucos nomes que atuam no Brasil, já que a cabeça do treinador ainda está no futebol europeu.
Sobre o líder do Brasileirão ter apenas um jogador, o apresentador da Band destacou o fato do Palmeiras ter muitos jogadores de outros países no time: “o Palmeiras entra com sete estrangeiros em campo”, pontuou Galvão. E de fato, nomes como Gómez, Giay, Piquerez, Martínez, Richard Ríos e Facundo Torres, se tornaram titulares absolutos com Abel Ferreira.
Ausência de Neymar
Talvez o nome mais esperado na lista do técnico italiano era do atacante Neymar, do Santos, que não atua pela seleção brasileira desde outubro de 2023. Porém, o craque santista ficou de fora. Ao comentar sobre a lista de convocados, Galvão Bueno elogiou essa ausência: “o Neymar tem que estar inteiro, bem, forte e importante na Copa do Mundo. Não é o técnico que tem que convocar o Neymar, ele tem que se levar de volta à seleção brasileira.”
