Real Madrid stoppt kurzfristig die Verhandlungen zur Verpflichtung von Álvaro Carreras (22). Der Linksverteidiger von Benfica Lissabon steht ganz weit oben auf der Wunschliste von Real-Coach Xabi Alonso (43). Hinter dieser kuriosen Entscheidung steckt aber offenbar ein ausgeklügelter Plan.
Benfica wollte erst das nationale Pokalfinale gegen Sporting über die Bühne bringen. Die Verhandlungspause führte allerdings nicht zum gewünschten Erfolg. Die Mannschaft von Bruno Lage (49) musste sich in der Verlängerung mit 1:2 geschlagen geben, obwohl sie über weite Strecken die bessere Mannschaft war.

Viel zu viel, sagen die Bosse in Madrid – man will den Preis deutlich drücken.
Sein aktueller Marktwert wird derzeit auf 28 Millionen Euro geschätzt. Carreras war erst im Juli 2024 zu Benfica gekommen, sein Vertrag läuft noch bis 2029.
