O Botafogo voltou a ser procurado pelo Nottingham Forest, da Inglaterra, para negociar o atacante Igor Jesus, de 24 anos. De acordo com informações do jornalista Venê Casagrande, o clube europeu apresentou uma proposta de 20 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 128 milhões) para contratar o camisa 99 alvinegro. A oferta ainda inclui uma cláusula por bonificação, de acordo com metas atingidas.
Nos bastidores, as conversas estão caminhando, mas ainda distante de um acordo. O intuito do Forest é ter o atacante após a realização do Mundial de Clubes, com o reforço chegando para a pré-temporada comandada pelo técnico Nuno Espírito Santo. No ano passado, o clube inglês chegou a formular uma proposta com valores mais altos pelo jogador, mas ele recusou, optando por seguir no Brasil, tendo como objetivo seguir no radar da seleção brasileira.
Diante da manutenção do interesse, as partes voltaram a se aproximar nas últimas semanas, inclusive contando com uma reunião entre representantes do atleta para com o clube da Premier League. Além do Forest, outros times do Velho Continente sinalizaram interesse no jovem atacante, mas as tratativas não evoluíram.
Igor Jesus é o atleta mais caro do plantel
Cobiçado pelo Nottingham Forest, Igor Jesus ostenta o posto de atleta mais valioso no plantel do Botafogo, de acordo com dados do site Transfermarkt, especializado no mercado da bola. Vinculado ao time de General Severiano até dezembro de 2027, o atacante de 24 anos tem passe fixado em 15 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 96,3 milhões na cotação atual).
Em termos comparativos, o zagueiro Jair é o segundo mais bem avaliado do elenco alvinegro, com valor de mercado de 10 milhões de euros. Na atual temporada, Igor esteve presente em 23 dos 31 jogos possíveis, com sete gols e uma assistência computada. No triunfo contra a Universidad de Chile, que sacramentou a classificação da equipe às oitavas da Libertadores, foi justamente do camisa 99 o único tento da partida.
Botafogo teve alta debandada de jogadores
Campeão absoluto do Brasileirão Série A e Libertadores no último ano, o Glorioso teve uma reformulação intensa do plantel na virada de 2024 para 2025, com muitas peças importantes deixando a equipe como Luiz Henrique, Thiago Almada, Júnior Santos, Tchê Tchê, Tiquinho Soares, Eduardo entre outros atletas. No comando ofensivo, Igor Jesus foi um dos poucos remanescentes, ao passo que John Textor precisou agir no mercado da bola.
A principal contratação para o setor foi Artur, ex-Palmeiras, que estava no Zenit, da Rússia, e chegou com status de titular na equipe chefiada por Renato Paiva. Além dele, o alvinegro trouxe para o ataque Jeffinho, Yarlen, Rafael Lobato e Rwan Cruz. Em 31 jogos realizados no ano, o Botafogo balançou as redes adversárias somente em 34 oportunidades.
