In der besten Liga der Welt zittert der HC Erlangen mehr denn je um den Klassenerhalt. Die Mittelfranken belegen Abstiegsplatz 17 und haben nur noch zwei Spiele. Zwei zusätzliche Schocks hagelte es Donnerstagabend – ausgelöst von der direkten Abstiegs-Konkurrenz.
Der TVB Stuttgart holte beim 33:26 in Mannheim gegen die Rhein-Neckar Löwen zwei überraschende Punkte. Die SG BBM Bietigheim führte gegen die SG Flensburg-Handewitt bereits mit neun Toren Vorsprung, um am Ende beim 29:29 „nur“ einen Punkt zu ergattern. Mit beiden Ergebnissen dürfte Erlangen nicht gerechnet haben.

Handball-Klub kann als Meister absteigen
In der jüngeren Vergangenheit war der HC Erlangen für so manche Kuriosität – Stichwort Trainer-Verschleiß – gut, eine weitere könnte am Wochenende hinzukommen. Und das auch innerhalb von rund 24 Stunden.
Samstagabend (19.30 Uhr) kann sich die U19 des HC Erlangen in der heimischen Karl-Heinz-Hiersemann-Halle zum neuen deutschen Meister krönen. Gegner JANO Filder (bei Stuttgart) wurde im Hinspiel auswärts 38:35 bezwungen. Es wäre die zweite Meisterschaft für Erlangen nach dem Erfolg von 1984, als die CSG Erlangen den Titel nach Mittelfranken holte.
[–>Sonntag (18 Uhr, live bei Dyn/Anzeige) muss der HC Erlangen beim ultimativen Kellerkracher der Bundesliga in Bietigheim ran. Verlieren ist für den HCE, der danach nur noch das Auswärtsspiel bei der HSG Wetzlar am letzten Spieltag zu absolvieren hat, verboten. Ziehen die Bietigheimer beide Heimpunkte, wären sie vorzeitig gerettet.

Der TVB Stuttgart empfängt ebenfalls Sonntag (16.30 Uhr, live bei Dyn) Titel-Favorit Füchse Berlin. Gelänge den Stuttgartern wie in Mannheim erneut eine Sensation in Form eines Punktes, stünde Erlangens Abstieg bei eigener Niederlage in Bietigheim bereits sicher fest.
