Libertadores: oitavas de final terá duelo brasileiro Flamengo x Internacional e Palmeiras com ‘vida fácil’

A Conmebol realizou no início da tarde desta segunda-feira (02), o sorteio para definir os jogos das oitavas de final da Libertadores. E a cerimônia ocorrida em Luque, no Paraguai, definiu fortes emoções para a sequência da competição continental, que irá interromper o calendário de disputa e retornará no mês de agosto, com os duelos eliminatórios.

O principal destaque ficou por conta do duelo brasileiro entre Flamengo e Internacional, que terá definição com o jogo de volta no sul do país, pelo fato do Colorado tido desempenho superior na etapa anterior. Melhor campanha geral da fase de grupos, o Palmeiras vai encarar o Universitario. O time de Abel Ferreira terá o direito de decidir o confronto de volta na capital paulista.

Ainda entre os times brasileiros, o SPFC medirá forças contra o Atlético Nacional, com o primeiro jogo acontecendo na Colômbia. Fortaleza e Botafogo, por sua vez, terão compromissos árduos e decidem fora dos seus respectivos domínios. O Leão do Pici encara o Vélez Sarsfield, enquanto o Glorioso vai duelar com a LDU, na altitude de Quito.

Os jogos das oitavas de final da Libertadores estão programados para a semana dos dias 13 e 20 de agosto, com detalhamento sendo divulgado em breve pela Conmebol. O torneio sofrerá uma paralisação em decorrência da disputa do Mundial de Clubes, que acontece entre os dias 14 de junho a 13 de julho, nos Estados Unidos, e conta com cinco times que estão vivos nas oitavas.

Como funcionou o sorteio?

A exemplo das últimas temporadas, a Conmebol alocou os 16 times classificados em dois potes, realizando a distribuição tendo como o posicionamento de cada um na fase de grupos. Os líderes foram para o Pote 1, enquanto os segundos colocados ficaram do outro lado, com a definição de que vão decidir o jogo de volta fora de seus domínios.

Diferentemente do sorteio realizado para a fase de grupos, onde há a restrição para que equipes do mesmo país não se enfrentem, exceto que vem da etapa preliminar, nas oitavas de final, não houve limitações, podendo assim ser definido qualquer tipo de confronto. No futebol nacional, eram três opções de clássicos locais.

POTE 1: Estudiantes, River Plate, LDU, São Paulo, Racing, Internacional, Palmeiras e Vélez Sarsfield.
