Principal artilheiro do Vasco, Pablo Vegetti teve oportunidade de trocar o Cruz-Maltino pelo Corinthians. Após chegar ao Timão ao lado de Ramón Díaz, Emiliano Díaz, bastante próximo ao camisa 99, consultou o centroavante sobre a possibilidade de transferência. No entanto, além de valorizar o status na equipe carioca, a concorrência envolvendo Memphis Depay e Yuri Alberto afastou o jogador do clube alvinegro.
“Eu quis trazer ele para o Corinthians. Sim, claro (tentei). Ele está muito vinculado ao Vasco. Eu brincava e ele (dizia): ‘É difícil, estou muito bem aqui, a família gosta do Vasco, sou capitão. Não sei se iria jogar, tem Yuri Alberto e Memphis’. Ele não quis sair do Vasco. Ele me falou que não.”, disse Emiliano Díaz, ao Charla Podcast.
“Eu sabia que era impossível, mas eu joguei a bola. É um jogador top.”, acrescentou.
Recentemente, Vegetti renovou o contrato com o Vasco até o fim de 2026. Segundo o GE, houve uma valorização salarial como forma de reconhecer o ótimo desempenho, motivo pelo qual os vencimentos do atleta, no momento, giram em torno de R$ 760 mil fixos de salário.

Aos 36 anos, Vegetti precisa de um cuidado redobrado para seguir atuando em alto nível. Neste cenário, mesmo nos momentos de descanso, o goleador do Vasco tem uma preocupação em não cometer exageros, algo relatado por Emiliano Díaz. Segundo o ex-auxiliar do Cruz-Maltino, o comportamento exemplar deve prolongar a carreira do atacante.
“Eu sempre falo, ele vai jogar até 50 anos. É um cara que se dedica para isso. É chato fazer churrasco com ele. Acaba o churrasco, e ele vai para a sauna queimar o churrasco. O cara vive assim.”, relatou.
Foco em dar alegrias aos torcedores
Decisivo desde que chegou ao Vasco, Vegetti é um dos jogadores capazes de atingir o status de ídolo. Porém, ao compreender o atual momento do clube, o centroavante entende que os títulos estão distantes, mas existe a intenção de encerrar o atual jejum com o troféu da Sul-Americana.
“Eu entendo a torcida do Vasco, que já ganhou muito, mas a realidade é outra. Leva tempo. Gostaria de dizer que vamos ser campeões de tudo, mas tenho que ser sincero. Vamos trabalhar para responder no campo. E que a gente possa ganhar uma taça nesse tempo em que estamos no Vasco. Eu posso falar que minha prioridade é a Copa Sul-Americana.”, externou Vegetti.
