Er ist dem Tod entkommen und teilt nun diese emotionalen Szenen, die viel Hoffnung machen. West-Ham-Star Michail Antonio zeigt nach einem Horror Autounfall im Dezember wie stark er sich zurück ins Leben kämpft. Private Aufnahmen des Stürmers aus dem Krankenhaus und der Reha. Auch seine West-Ham-Teamkollegen besuchten ihn und von den Fans gab es Support mit Bannern und Sprechchören. Das gab Antonio enorme Kraft, sagte er. Denn seine Genesung war ein Kampf! Sein Oberschenkel war nach seinem Crash mehrfach gebrochen – Laufen muss er erst mühsam wieder lernen. Zunächst waren Schritte nur schwer mit Krücken möglich, später schafft er es wieder aus eigener Kraft. Er gab nicht auf, trainiert unter Schmerzen im Gym und auf dem Fußballplatz, machte schneller Fortschritte als gedacht. Was passiert war: Der Stürmer-Star erlebte am 7. Dezember 2024 den puren Albtraum: Mit seinem silbernen Ferrari prallte er mit voller Wucht durch einen Sturm geschuldet gegen einen Baum. Das Auto: Totalschaden – in dem der Kicker 45 Minuten eingeklemmt war. Fast hätte er den Crash nicht überlebt. Um so schöner diese Szenen von ihm zurück beim Training. Sein Vertrag bei West Ham läuft jetzt im Sommer aus – wie es für ihn weitergeht ist noch nicht raus. Beeindruckend: Sein Spieler-Comeback könnte jetzt schon im Juni beim Gold Cup in den USA mit der Jamaikanische Nationalmannschaft geben.
