Zuletzt ging es vor allem um die Details der Ablöse für Florian Wirtz. Rund 140 Millionen Euro wird Bayer Leverkusen für den Topstar des deutschen Fußballs vom FC Liverpool an fixer Ablöse und realistischer Bonus-Zahlungen innerhalb der nächsten fünf Jahre kassieren. Weitere zehn Millionen Euro können für außerordentliche Erfolge hinzukommen.

Möglich scheint, dass die mündlichen Vereinbarungen am heutigen Mittwoch auch schriftlich vollzogen werden.

Dass die Gesamtsumme über Jahre gestreckt wird, ist für Bayer-Boss Fernando Carro (60) und Sportdirektor Simon Rolfes (43) eher Vor- als Nachteil. Würde die gesamte Summe als Einmalzahlung fließen, müssten sie das Geld in diesem Jahr komplett investieren – oder den Überschuss am Jahresende zunächst versteuern und dann in Form einer Gewinnabführung an die Bayer AG abführen.

Weil in diesem Sommer Verkäufe für zusammen rund 250 Mio. Euro anstehen (u. a. durch Frimpong, Boniface, Kossounou), verteilen sich durch Ratenzahlungen und Nachschläge die Einnahmen auf Jahre.

So war es schon beim Verkauf von Kai Havertz (26) vor fünf Jahren an Chelsea. Der Transfer spülte bis heute insgesamt rund 100 Millionen Euro in die Klubkasse. Jahr für Jahr kamen wegen des Ablöse-Tricks einzelne Tranchen. Mit dem Geld bauten Rolfes und Kim Falkenberg (37), 2020 noch Chefscout und heute Profi-Boss, in den Folgejahren mit Trainer Xabi Alonso (43/jetzt Real Madrid) die Double-Sieger-Mannschaft von 2024 auf.

Spieler wie Piero Hincapié (23), Amine Adli (25), Jeremie Frimpong (24) und Patrik Schick (29) wurden von dem Geld geholt. Ähnlich soll es mit den Wirtz-Millionen von Liverpool laufen.

Leverkusen wird keinen Top-Star in der Ablöseregion von 50 Millionen und mehr holen, um Wirtz Eins-zu-eins zu ersetzen. Sondern viele Spieler, die den neuen Kader sofort konkurrenzfähig für den nächsten Angriff machen. Die Mannschaft wird anschließend mit weiteren Top-Talenten und erfahrenen Stützen in der Spitze gestärkt. Das Ziel ist trotz des Umbruchs die Qualifikation für die Champions League, also mindestens Platz vier.

[–>Spätestens 2026/27 will Leverkusen mit seinem neuen Trainer Erik ten Hag (55), der mit den Talenten von Ajax Amsterdam 2019 ins Halbfinale der Champions League eingezogen war, wieder in den Titelkampf eingreifen.

Sicher sind als Zugänge bisher die neue Nr. 1 Mark Flekken (31/von Brentford), Mittelfeldspieler Ibrahim Maza (19/von Hertha BSC) und Stürmer Christian Kofane (18/von Albacete). Zusammen kosten sie rund 27 Millionen Euro. Wenn der Wirtz-Wechsel formal vollzogen ist, wird es konkrete Angebote für den neuen Abwehrchef und einen Spielmacher geben.

Weit oben auf der Liste für die Abwehr steht Malik Thiaw (23) von der AC Mailand, der rund 23 Mio. Ablöse kosten soll. Fürs Mittelfeld ist Nico Paz (20/zuletzt Como) von Real Madrid der Wunschspieler. Preis: 30 Mio. Auch ten-Hag-Zögling Antony (25) von Manchester United ist ein Kandidat für die Offensive.

Für den Brasilianer zahlte der englische Rekordmeister 2022 noch 95 Mio. Euro an Ajax. Durchsetzen konnte er sich bei Manchester nie und war zuletzt an Betis Sevilla ausgeliehen. Gibt’s den Neustart unter Förderer ten Hag in Leverkusen?
