Und weiter: „Ich weiß nicht, ob es das erste Mal ist, dass ich einen Mann mit einer verkehrten Mütze sehe. Das gefällt mir nicht, weil er in der spanischen Nationalmannschaft ist!“

Der Madrilene absolvierte in seiner Karriere selbst 14 Spiele für die spanische Nationalmannschaft, schoss dabei drei Tore. Von 1996 bis 2010 spielte er für die erste Mannschaft von Real Madrid – insgesamt 542 Mal stand er für die los Blancos auf dem Platz.
Bei all dem Lob für Yamals spielerische Qualitäten ist es nicht die erste Kritik an seinem Kleidungsstil. Auch Rafael van der Vaart (42) ist nicht begeistert vom Kleidungsstil des spanischen Nationalspielers (21 Spiele).
Im März bezeichnete der Ex-HSV-Star, der ebenfalls für Real spielte (2008-2010) Yamal als oberflächlich und kritisierte ihn für die Höhe, in der er seine Hosen trägt – laut van der Vaart zu tief.

Das ließ sich Yamal nicht gefallen. Auf Instagram schrieb er: „Hosen runter, ein Tor, Elfmeter verschossen, und im Halbfinale. Hehehehehehe, auf geht’s Spanien!“
Bei seinem Jubel gemeinsam mit Bayern-Kandidat Nico Williams zog er sich damals die Hose extra runter. Eine klare Message an van der Vaart.
Gut möglich also, dass er bald auch auf die Kritik seines Landsmanns Guti reagieren wird.
