O Fluminense fechou a contratação de Soteldo junto ao Santos por 5,4 milhões de dólares (cerca de R$ 30 milhões na cotação atual) e irá contar com o venezuelano já na Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa. Segundo informações da ESPN, o atleta de 27 anos terá uma salário de R$ 1,2 milhão em seu novo clube.
Essa quantia é superior ao R$ 1,1 milhão que Pedro recebe no rival Flamengo, de acordo com apuração recente do site “Coluna do Fla”; vale ressaltar que esse valor deve aumentar em caso de renovação contratual. Bruno Henrique e Alex Sandro, com 1,8 milhão, e Arrascaeta, De la Cruz, Danilo, Michael e Gerson (que está de saída), com 1,5 milhão, são os maiores salários do Rubro-Negro.
O jogador é reconhecido pela facilidade de driblar e quebrar linhas. No entanto, ele deixa o Santos novamente pelas portas dos fundos após não marcar gols neste ano e colecionar lesões que prejudicaram sua sequência em campo.
Um dos grandes problemas de Soteldo é a dificuldade de finalizar com eficiência. Esse ponto foi motivo de muitas críticas ao longo da atual temporada, mas o estrangeiro só perdeu a titularidade em momentos de problemas físicos.
