Im Herbst 2024 sollte das neue „Spotify Camp Nou“ mit einer Kapazität von 105 000 Zuschauern eingeweiht werden. Das legendäre Stadion in neuem Glanz – davon ist Barça noch Lichtjahre entfernt.
Verschieben, vertrösten, verdrängen. Mit dem Umbau, der seit 2023 läuft, macht sich der Verein zur Lachnummer – denn der oberste von drei Tribünen-Rängen wurde bisher genauso wenig gebaut wie die neuen Logen!

Erst wurde der Einzugstermin von November auf Dezember, dann auf Januar, später auf den März gelegt. Dabei geht es auch nur um den Einzug in ein halbfertiges Stadion mit der Kapazität von circa 60 000 Plätzen.
Neuester Plan ist jetzt der September 2025, nach der ersten Länderspielpause der kommenden Saison. Dafür müssen aber Sondergenehmigungen her. In der Liga soll der Meister mindestens an den ersten drei Spieltagen auswärts angesetzt werden.
Bei der Uefa beantragten die Bosse schon einen Auswärtsauftritt zum Start der Ligaphase der Champions League. In der Ausweich-Stätte der vergangenen beiden Jahre, dem Olympia-Stadion Montjuïc, hat der Klub bereits die eigenen Sachen geräumt.
Auf der Vereins-Website hieß es vor einigen Wochen, man habe sich mit dem Bauherrn Limak „auf maximalen Fortschritt“ beim Weiterbau geeinigt. Dass die Bosse um Präsident Joan Laporta (62) ein türkisches Unternehmen für den Umbau wählten, hatte vor allem Kostengründe – die sich jetzt rächen. Durch Material- und Arbeiter-Knappheit sowie den Konkurs von Subunternehmen ist der Bau weit hinter Plan.
Problem: Die Rechte an zu erwartenden Einnahmen (z. B. für Logen-Tickets) hat der klamme Verein längst im Voraus an Geldgeber verkauft, um jetzt schnelle Kohle zu bekommen.
[–>Drinnen ist nicht mal der Unter- und Mittelrang komplett fertig. Weil zuletzt Rasen und Sitzschalen installiert wurden, sieht das neue Camp Nou immerhin halbwegs vorzeigbar aus.
Auch ein Dach wird die Arena, die inklusive der Nebengebäude des „Espai Barça“-Geländes 1,5 Milliarden Euro kostet, frühestens im Sommer 2026 haben. Inzwischen gibt’s immerhin eine seit Langem fehlende offizielle Genehmigung für Arbeiten rund um die Uhr.
Die größte Schmach für Barça: Erzfeind Real Madrid mit Präsident und Bau-Mogul Florentino Pérez (78) an der Spitze hat den Umbau seines Estadio Bernabéu längst hinter sich.
