The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will mark the beginning of a new era in club football. For the first time, 32 teams will compete in a tournament that promises to be as global and exciting as the World Cup. The competition will be held in the United States between June 14 and July 13, 2025, with a total duration of 30 days.
The 2025 Club World Cup format

The format will adopt a similar structure to the World Cup. There will be eight groups of four teams each, formed through a draw that seeks to balance the competitive level and ensure geographical diversity
In the group stage, each team will play three matches. The top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16, when the knockout rounds will begin.
The knockout stage includes the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final, which will be played on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey
Unlike previous editions, where the tournament lasted just a week and featured between six and seven teams, this edition will last for a month and is more like a World Cup, with a packed schedule and high sporting demands.
Participating teams and seeds
The participating teams come from all confederations: UEFA (12), CONMEBOL (6), AFC (4), CAF (4), Concacaf (4), OFC (1) and the host country (1).
The distribution of the teams was defined by pots, based on the international performance of each club and geographical representation. The seeds include the top four from UEFA and the top four from CONMEBOL. In total, there will be 64 matches throughout the tournament.
This new Club World Cup will be held every four years and will serve as a global showcase for club soccer. FIFA intends that this format will coexist with the Champions League and the Copa Libertadores, but crowning a world champion in a fairer and more representative way.
Thus, the United States will host the first edition of a tournament that aims to become the most important club soccer event in the world
It will be a litmus test for the world’s leading soccer powers and a unique opportunity for teams from other regions to show their quality in front of the world’s eyes. With matches from June 14 to July 13, the 2025 Club World Cup promises to be the great spectacle of the summer.
