The United States national team is going through a terrible time, accumulating worrying negative results, even for a day of friendly matches against top teams
The main concern of the fans is that the team does not seem to be improving and Pochettino’s style of play does not seem to be reflected in the players. What happened to the United States national team?
The North American team suffered a heavy defeat against Switzerland, with a score of 4-0, a result that also implies a historic negative record, as it is the first time in almost 50 years that they have conceded four goals in less than 40 minutes. This had not happened since November 9, 1980, in Mexico, and it is also the first time it has happened on home soil, revealed OptaJack.
This is a clear reflection of the moments of uncertainty experienced by Mauricio Pochettino’s side. In just four minutes, the Swiss won 4-0 and managed the game until the end, without allowing the Americans any reaction.
With goals from Dan Ndoye, Michael Aebischer, Breel Embolo and Johan Manzambi, a historic thrashing was consummated in record time. However, it should be clarified that the Swiss national team has shown a surprising level also against other teams in the area, as the Mexican national team was also thrashed with four goals, although the Mexicans responded by scoring two goals, making the defeat more decent.
