Der Papa ist weg. Folgt ihm nun auch sein Sohn?
Vor ein paar Tagen hat sich Handball-Bundesligist SC DHfK Leipzig von seinem isländischen Trainer Runar Sigtryggsson getrennt. Problem: Mit Andri Runarsson spielt auch sein Sohn im Klub. Und der hat noch Vertrag bis 2026.
Handball: Nach Entlassung von Trainer-Papa – haut nun auch der Sohn aus Leipzig ab?
Sportchef Bastian Roscheck: „Er ist jetzt in der Heimat, um den Kopf freizubekommen. Natürlich geht das nicht spurlos an ihm vorbei. Wir versuchen, ihn da eng zu begleiten. Am Ende ist es ein Prozess, was er mit sich und seiner Familie verarbeiten muss.“
Wäre es möglich, dass er am Ende zu dem Entschluss kommt, ebenfalls gehen zu wollen? Geschäftsführer Karsten Günther glaubt das nicht: „Er weiß, dass wir klar mit ihm planen. Er hat eine wichtige Rolle in der Mannschaft, ist angekommen, hoch akzeptiert, setzt Akzente. Im Sport gehört es dazu, sich auf neue Situationen einstellen zu müssen.“
Günther stellt auch klar: „Er ist in erster Linie für uns der Rückraumspieler Andri Runarsson und nicht der Sohn von Runar. Er hat weiter das gleiche Umfeld und das gleiche Vertrauen. Es wird ihm helfen, weiter als Persönlichkeit zu wachsen.“
[–>Nach dem Abgang von Luca Witzke (Flensburg) ist Runarsson als Mittelmann fest eingeplant. Wobei (angesichts der Verletzung von Simon Ernst) noch ein weiterer Rechtshänder für Innenblock und Angriff gesucht wird.

Die Trennung von Sigtryggsson war nach der schlechtesten Saison der zehnjährigen Bundesligageschichte des Klubs indes alternativlos. Günther: „In der Konstellation sind wir leider in eine Sackgasse geraten. Jetzt gilt es, mit einem neuen Mann einen unbelasteten Blick auf die Sache zu bekommen und das Blatt komplett leerzumachen und eine neue Geschichte zu schreiben.“
