Klub-Boss über den Türkei-Wechsel – Sané sprach schon im Januar mit Gala!

Nach seiner Ankunft in Orlando suchte Leroy Sané (29) zunächst das Gespräch mit Vincent Kompany (39). Der Stürmer wollte sich gerne von seinen Mitspielern verabschieden, flog dafür – und weil sein Vertrag noch bis 30. Juni läuft – in die USA. Eine Verletzung soll jedoch unbedingt verhindert werden: Schließlich startet Sané am 1. Juli in ein neues Kapitel in seinem Leben: Er wird Profi bei Galatasaray Istanbul. Beim Auftakt-Spiel bei der Klub-WM gegen Auckland City nahm Kompany Rücksicht: Er ließt Sané beim 10:0 auf der Bank.

Der Flirt zwischen der Sané-Seite und Galatasaray begann schon zu Jahresbeginn. Da gab es den ersten Kontakt, ein erstes Video-Telefonat. Danach wuchs bei den Verantwortlichen des türkischen Meisters die Zuversicht, den Nationalspieler für sich gewinnen zu können. Eine einmalige Chance – schließlich ist Sané im besten Fußballer-Alter. „Sané ist noch auf seinem höchsten Leistungsniveau. Damit hat man international ein Zeichen gesetzt – und das bedeutet gleichzeitig einen gewissen Druck für Leroy Sané“, sagt Lothar Matthäus (64).

Nach der starken Rückrunde ging man bei Galatasaray davon aus, dass Sané verlängern würde. Der Kontakt brach jedoch nie ab.

Hinter dem Transfer steckt vor allem ein Mann: Abdullah Kavukcu (52), der Vizepräsident von Galatasaray. Kavukcu ist der Mann hinter einer der größten und erfolgreichsten Restaurantketten der Türkei: „Simit Sarayı“, eine Bäckerei- und Café-Kette. Seit dem Sommer ist er Vizepräsident, war auch an den Transfers von Victor Osimhen (26) und Álvaro Morata (32) maßgeblich beteiligt.

Es ist schwer, unsere Emotionen in Worte zu fassen“, sagt Kavukcu zu SPORT BILD: „Einer der größten Faktoren, warum wir ihn in dieser Phase zu uns holen konnten, waren eindeutig unsere Fans. Dass unsere Fans bei der Meisterschaftsfeier auf die Straßen gegangen sind, uns unterstützt haben, dass er das Spiel gegen Bayern München live miterlebt hat – all das hat Eindruck hinterlassen und war ausschlaggebend.“

Sané stand am 24. Oktober 2023 mit den Bayern im „RAMS Park“ auf dem Feld, die Atmosphäre hinterließ bei ihm tatsächlich Eindruck. Zudem half ein Münchner bei dem Deal: Fatih Demireli (42) arbeitete früher als Journalist, ist nun Technischer Direktor bei Galatasaray und ein Bezugspunkt für Sané.

Vize-Präsident Kavukcu stellte Sané auch seinen Privatjet für die An- und Abreise aus London, gab ihm einen Dreijahresvertrag mit garantierten neun Millionen Euro Jahresgehalt netto. Qualifiziert sich Gala für die Champions League, kann es auf bis zu 15 Mio. ansteigen.

Kavukcus ehrgeiziges Ziel: eine Mannschaft zu bauen, die in der Königsklasse für Furore sorgt. Aktuell arbeitet er daran, Osimhen von Neapel fest zu verpflichten.
