Am Sonntag (22. Juni) wird die TV-Legende Fritz von Thurn und Taxis 75 Jahre alt. Zum Jubiläum spricht der Österreicher über das Handwerk eines Fußball-Kommentators.

SPORT BILD: Herr von Thurn und Taxis, Ihr „Huiuiuiuiuiui“ in Ihren Fußball-Kommentaren ist vielen Fans bis heute im Ohr. Rutscht das daheim auf der Couch auch mal raus?

Fritz von Thurn und Taxis (74): Ehrlich gesagt bin ich daheim ein sehr ruhiger Zuschauer – nichts mit Huiuiui (lacht). Meist schaue ich allein, um mich voll auf das Spiel konzentrieren zu können. Manchmal guckt meine Frau mit, aber wenn es zu aufregend wird, geht sie lieber raus. Ich habe auf meinem Decoder Sky und DAZN. Dort schaue ich mir meistens die Bayern-Partien an.

Geben Sie Ihr Wissen an die nächste Kommentatoren-Generation weiter?

Uwe König, Chef von Sky Sport Austria, hat mich gebeten, seine Kommentatoren immer wieder mal zu coachen und vor allem auf die Basics, also das Wesentliche eines Kommentars, zu achten. Viele haben ein großes Wissen und verstehen auch das Spiel, tun sich aber oft schwer, Informationen und Wertungen zu dosieren und zum richtigen Zeitpunkt zu setzen.

[–>Was sind die Fehler, die häufig gemacht werden?

Fast alle Kommentatoren, die ich kenne, bereiten sich sehr intensiv und seriös auf ihren Einsatz vor und haben daher eine Menge an Statistik, Informationen und Geschichten auf Lager. Das ist gut, heißt aber nicht, dass alles erzählt werden muss! Im Gegenteil: Je besser das Spiel, siehe zuletzt das 5:4 der Spanier gegen Frankreich in der Nations League, desto weniger sollte gesprochen werden. Das Geschehen spricht doch für sich!

Wie sieht Ihre Schulung aus?

Ich setze mich mit dem Kollegen an den Monitor. Wir schauen uns das Spiel an und bewerten den Kommentar Szene für Szene. Da geht es zum Beispiel darum, wann sage ich etwas – und wann auf gar keinen Fall. Geschichten müssen kurz und knackig erzählt werden. Ansonsten verlässt der Kommentator das Spiel, schwebt über dem Stadion. Plötzlich gibt es eine Gelbe Karte, er muss abbrechen und geht wieder runter. Dann geht die Geschichte weiter. Es gibt eine Torchance, er muss wieder abbrechen. Der Kommentator ist also viel zu weit weg vom Spiel. Das macht den Zuschauer wahnsinnig.

Worauf muss man noch achten?

Es geht im Grunde um die Bild-Text-Schere. Wenn die immer weiter aufgeht, weil ständig am Bild vorbeigesprochen wird, werden die Zuschauer nervös, ungeduldig, ärgern sich und hören nicht mehr zu.

Früher gab es weniger Fußball-Übertragungen und dementsprechend weniger Kommentatoren. Erkennen Sie noch die Kollegen an der Stimme?

Das wird schwieriger. Früher gab es vielleicht je drei, vier bei ARD und ZDF. Dann kam das Privatfernsehen, und mittlerweile sind es heute über alle Sender mehr als 60 Kommentatoren. Die Zuschauer wissen oft gar nicht, wer da spricht. Selbst bei guten Leuten. Daher ist es wichtig, einen eigenen Stil zu entwickeln, seine Persönlichkeit, wenn es denn eine gibt, mit einzubringen – über Stimme, Diktion und Duktus, also den eigenen Sprachstil. Dann bleibt man nicht beliebig. Der Wiedererkennungswert wird größer, und im besten Fall wirst du unverwechselbar. Das schaffen leider nur wenige.

Taktik-Analysen nehmen immer mehr Platz ein.

In meinen letzten Jahren bei Sky hat der Trend begonnen. Ich finde, ein Kommentar sollte keine Taktikschulung sein. Dafür sind Experten da. Taktik- und Systemfragen müssen angesprochen werden, aber das darf nicht überhandnehmen. Ich denke, die Mischung macht es aus. Von jedem ein bisschen: Taktik, System, aber auch Unterhaltsames – und auch mal eine andere Art der Wahrnehmung. Das war immer mein Credo bis zum Schluss.

Co-Kommentatoren sind inzwischen die Regel. Was halten Sie davon?

Der Kommentator ist der Chef und muss wissen, wie er seinen Co-Kommentator führt. Das löst zum Beispiel Uli Hebel bei DAZN mit Michael Ballack in hervorragender Weise. Der Experte muss sich schon unterordnen, weil es zu zweit sonst komplizierter wird. Die beiden müssen sich instinktiv verstehen, damit es nicht zu viel für den Zuschauer wird.

Wem hören Sie gern zu?

Im ZDF habe ich kürzlich beim Pokalfinale Gari Paubandt gehört. Das wird sicherlich ein Mann für die nächsten Jahre im ZDF sein. Hier und da gibt es sicher Dinge, an denen er noch arbeiten kann, aber er gefällt mir. Bei DAZN höre ich Uli Hebel gern, mit dem ich schon lange zusammenarbeite.

Mit Mats Hummels wechselt ein weiterer Weltmeister von 2014 ins TV-Geschäft. Was trauen Sie ihm zu?

Alles! Wenn er, wie gesagt, gut geführt wird. Ich fand schon seinen Bruder Jonas in dieser Rolle sehr gut.

Wird Thomas Müller der nächste TV-Experte?

Der bringt natürlich auch alles mit. Ich bin mir aber nicht sicher, ob er nicht andere Aufgaben übernehmen will.
