Válido pela 2ª rodada da fase de grupos do Mundial de Clubes da Fifa, o duelo Palmeiras x Al-Ahly foi paralisado durante o segundo tempo por razões climáticas. Um aviso apareceu nos telões do estádio MetLife solicitando que os torcedores buscassem abrigo. A interrupção ocorreu pouco depois de Flaco López marcar o segundo gol palmeirense. Alguns profissionais da crônica esportiva criticaram a decisão.
”Eu não tenho competência para questionar uma medida de segurança. Agora eu tenho condição de pelo menos achar esquisito. Está aí agora no telão o aviso pedindo para o pessoal se proteger para que essa tempestade não cause dano aos torcedores. Mas é muito estranho. O sol brilhando e uma medida dessa tão repentina”, opinou Gustavo Villani, narrador da TV Globo.
O ex-jogador Djalminha fez a cobertura in-loco pelo canal CazéTV. Ele também questionou a medida. “Está um calor danado e eles vão parar o jogo por causa de chuva. É incrível. Interessante”, relatou.
Rafael Oliveira foi mais sereno. O comentarista esportivo destacou que esta não é a primeira interrupção no Mundial de Clubes. Ele lembrou que os jogos Ulsan Hyundai x Mamelodi Sundows e Pachuca x RB Salzburg também foram paralisados ou começaram mais tarde. Além disso, citou que o Flamengo teve um treino interrompido por razões semelhantes.
“A gente olha de longe, ou até de perto, e acha estranho. É o terceiro dia de paralisação por questão climática. A gente vai ficando até mais familiarizado com alguns aspectos do tema”, disse Oliveira
“O que acontece é que também existem leis nos Estados unidos que obrigam paralisações em casos de previsão de tempestade ou incidências de raios numa relativa distância em determinadas áreas”, finalizou.
