La entrada en pista de Aina Ayuso se notó de inmediato, cinco puntos consecutivos de la catalana reflotaban a sus compañeras y España se marchaba al descanso por delante (36-30).

Dos faltas y una técnica a Miguel Méndez nada más arrancar el tercer cuarto desquiciaban al banquillo, pero las jugadoras no perdían la compostura y Raquel Carrera alejaba el peligro. El partido parecía estar encallado, pero una falta y una técnica de Elena Buenavida sobre Leo Fiebich mandaban a la canaria al banquillo. La tensión se podía morder con un cuchillo, y justo en ese momento aparecía el descaro de Iyana Martín para oxigenar el encuentro. España resucitaba de la mano de AlbaTorrens, que anotaba un triple que colocaba la máxima (+13) y la convertía en la undécima jugadora en llegar a los 700 puntos anotados en un Eurobasket (51-38).
El cansancio hacía mella en las alemanas, que necesitaban puntos del banquillo para volver al partido. Y justo cuando el Inselkpark Arena volvía a rugir, los triples de Andrea Vilaró rompían el encuentro y Raquel Carrera demostraba a toda Europa por qué es de las mejores del mundo en su posición. La gallega, con 20 puntos en 17 minutos tras salir de una lesión, ponía la guinda a un partido redondo. La segunda ya estaba en el bolsillo.
