The eternal frenemy feud between Tom Brady and Eli Manning just hit a whole new gear. The seven-time Super Bowl champ still hasn’t quite forgiven Manning for those two crushing title-game losses over a decade ago-and in the latest chapter of their rivalry, things got physical.
It all started way back in 2008, when Manning’s New York Giants shocked Brady’s undefeated New England Patriots with a 17-14 win in Super Bowl XLII. Four years later, Eli did it again, winning 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI. (Brady’s only other Super Bowl loss came in 2018-but Eli lives rent-free in his head.)
Since then, Brady and Manning have spent years exchanging light jabs through media appearances and online antics. Just recently, Brady “abused” his role as CardVault owner by listing Eli’s collectible trading card for a whopping $1.
But things truly escalated this time.
Eli snaps-Sort of
In a now-viral video, fans witnessed Brady commit what may be the greatest sin in Giants Nation: holding up Eli’s jersey in a packed stadium… and ripping it in half with a smug grin.
As the crowd erupted, Manning burst out from backstage, leapt onto Brady, and dramatically put him in a playful chokehold-demanding he retrieve the jersey scraps. The crowd went wild, eating up the theatrical brawl like it was WrestleMania.
Just a couple of quarterbacks play-fighting
As it turns out-no surprise-it was all staged. The altercation was part of a promotional skit for WWE, in collaboration with Fanatics Fest. Eli and Tom later squared off again-this time on a baseball mound-with Manning walking away victorious… again.
Will the rivalry ever end? Probably not. And let’s be honest, we don’t want it to. These two Hall of Famers are giving football fans comedy gold-and we’ll be front row for whatever ridiculous stunt they cook up next.
