La ciberseguridad de los principales portales web del mundo vuelven a estar en entredicho. El grupo de expertos que conforman Cybernews ha detectado la que sería la mayor filtración de datos de la historia al identificar que habrían sido expuestos más de 30 conjuntos de datos en iternet. Un total de 16.000 millones de registros con nombres de usuario, contraseñas, cookies, tokens y otra información personal de los usuarios que los hace vulnerables.
Una cantidad elevada de datos que se justifica por la magnitud de la brecha que se habría detectado en múltiples empresas, algo que la diferencia de otros ataques a determinadas plataformas que se han vivido en el pasado. Algo que ha dejado en el mismo punto los datos de los usuarios con cuenta de Google, Apple, Facebook o Amazon, aunque también otros servicios de internet conocidos como Netflix, PayPal, Telegram o Microsoft, entre otros.
Lo peligroso es que son datos actuales
Entre los datos que habrían sido sustraídos hay información de datos almacenados en los sistemas gubernamentales, que van desde nombres, direcciones, correos y por supuesto en contraseñas. De hecho, muchos de esos datos que se comentan han sido obtenidas mediante un malware infostealer capaz de infectar un dispositivo y robarles las contraseñas o información útil para los ciberdelincuentes.
Una filtración de datos que hace que sea más peligrosa dada la vigencia de los datos y contraseñas que podrían estar incluso en uso en este momento. Por ello, cabe extremar las precauciones ante la posibilidad de que se garantice el acceso no autorizado a cuentas en correos electrónicos, redes sociales o cuentas bancarias, el acceso a carteras de criptomonedas, suplantaciones de identidad y el acceso a datos sensibles de empresas y gobiernos.
La investigación todavía no ha dado con los autores de este ciberataque y todavía no tienen forma de conocer a cuantos usuarios les ha afectado esta filtraciones, ya que los 16.000 millones de datos no equivale al mismo número de personas. Eso sí, se recomienda estar alerta con la actividad en este tipo de aplicaciones y modificar las contraseñas, o por lo menos aquellas que protegan cuentas de más valor como las bancarias, para extremar las precauciones.
