“We at War?” was the short question he shared, sparking numerous comments about the news coming just 48 hours after Donald Trump confirmed an aerial campaign against nuclear facilities in Iran.
One user responded to the question with, “Yeh but just get healthy** bro,” referencing the player’s knee injury that ended his season in Week 14 during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
It’s worth noting that Overshown missed his 2023 rookie season due to a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament).
Recently, according to Sports Illustrated, the linebacker set Thanksgiving as his target return date** with the Cowboys. “It’s going really well, I don’t think it could be better,” Overshown said during team activities. “If it were any better, I’d probably already be out there playing.”
There’s no doubt that his injury was a significant blow to the Cowboys‘ defense, following a season where he racked up 90 tackles, five sacks, and an interception return for a touchdown.
While he has proven his worth within the Dallas team, the Cowboys are now considering whether Overshown will continue to face injury issues, so they’ll need to evaluate the future of the player, who is under contract until 2026.
The Dallas Cowboys will enter a new season where they’ll need as much help as possible. They have a new head coach and hope to compete in a highly competitive NFC East, where two teams played in the last Conference Championship, plus the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
