O FC Porto está fora do Mundial de Clubes. Nesta madrugada, os dragões empataram (4-4) com os egípcios do Al Ahly e foram eliminados da prova, depois de também terem empatado, logo na ronda inaugural, com os brasileiros do Palmeiras, e de terem perdido com os norte-americanos do Inter Miami. A equipa orientada por Martín Anselmi ficou, assim, no terceiro lugar do grupo A, com apenas dois pontos conquistados.
Terminada que está a participação do FC Porto neste renovado formato do Mundial de Clubes, é hora de fazer contas ao dinheiro encaixado pelo clube durante a competição da FIFA. Pelo que escreve o jornal ‘Record’, o emblema da Invicta recebeu um total de 18,4 milhões de euros, sendo que a grande maioria desse valor – 16,7 milhões de euros – é relativa ao prémio de presença na prova, arrecadado com a qualificação para a mesma.
Os restantes 1,7 milhões de euros, esses sim, são resultantes do desempenho dos azuis e brancos nos Estados Unidos: cada empate na fase de grupos do Mundial de Clubes vale cerca de 860 mil euros, e o FC Porto empatou dois dos três encontros que realizou em solo norte-americano.
De referir ainda que cada triunfo no Mundial de Clubes garante um encaixe de cerca de 1,73 milhões de euros, mas os dragões não venceram qualquer jogo durante a competição.
