Cafu está na torcida por Flamengo, Palmeiras, Botafogo e Fluminense na Copa do Mundo de Clubes. Satisfeito e empolgado com a performance apresentada na fase de grupos, o ex-lateral da seleção projetou a fase de mata-mata e apontou seus favoritos ao título. Para ele, o Fluminense não está entre os principais candidatos.
Nas oitavas de final, um confronto cercado de rivalidade nestes últimos anos. No sábado, Verdão e Glorioso estarão frente a frente. De acordo com o penta, não há favorito e imagina que quem avançar ficará ainda mais forte na sequência da competição.
“Eu torço para todos os brasileiros que estão lá. Acho que Flamengo e Palmeiras têm chances muito grandes, caso o Palmeiras passe pelo Botafogo, que vai ser um jogo muito difícil. O vencedor sai de Flamengo, Palmeiras ou Botafogo”, apostou Cafu.
No domingo, será a vez do Flamengo desafiar o poderoso Bayern de Munique. Campeão alemão na última temporada, os Bávaros terminaram em segundo na chave após a derrota para o Benfica. O classificado, possivelmente, terá o PSG nas quartas. O Fluminense, por sua vez, terá a Inter de Milão na próxima fase do Mundial de Clubes.
Cafu vê seleção brasileira entre as favoritas na Copa do Mundo
Responsável por erguer a taça do penta, em 2002, Cafu, apesar de todos os percalços, segue acreditando que a seleção brasileira chegará preparada para a disputa da Copa do Mundo. O ex-lateral aposta no trabalho de Carlo Ancelotti, mas lembra que o italiano precisará de tempo para reorganizar o time.
“Ele sabe montar time e escolher jogador. Mas gosta de tempo. Infelizmente, o Brasil tem jogado contra o tempo”, lamentou Cafu.
Na comparação com a seleção de outras épocas com a atual, a sensação para ele é que não há uma gama de grandes jogadores.
“A geração de antes foi vencedora, tinha muitos craques e conquistou todos os títulos. Hoje o mundo está carente de craques. Essa geração atual pode conquistar. É muito boa, mas precisa de algo importante para se consagrar.”
Situação nas Eliminatórias
Na estreia de Ancelotti, o Brasil sofreu, mas arrancou um empate em 0 a 0 com o Equador. Em São Paulo, a seleção brasileira conseguiu derrotar o Paraguai por 1 a 0, garantindo presença em mais um Mundial. Neste momento, está na terceira posição das Eliminatórias com 25. A Argentina lidera com dez a mais.
