Juan Soto once again stood out on Wednesday by hitting two home runs in the San Diego Padres’ 7-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves. But beyond his key contribution to the team, Soto achieved a new historical mark in Major League Baseball.
With these two home runs, Soto reached 18 and 19 so far this season and, at the same time, recorded his 27th multi-home run game of his career and, according to analyst Sarah Langs of MLB, this figure represents a new record for the most multi-home run games before the age of 27.

With this achievement, Soto surpassed Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx, who had 26 such games while playing for the Philadelphia Athletics between 1928 and 1934, a period in which he hit 263 home runs and accumulated 52 wins above replacement between the ages of 20 and 26.
How many home runs does Juan Soto have?
Soto’s performance in June has been remarkable, with nine home runs so far this month, which has put him back in the conversation for the All-Star Game, as if he keeps up this pace, he would be on track to complete his third consecutive season with at least 30 home runs
How are the New York Mets doing?
The night was also notable for the rest of the Mets outfielders. Jeff McNeil, in center field, prevented a home run by Marcell Ozuna in the first inning, while Brandon Nimmo, in left field, contributed with an RBI single.
With the victory, the Mets improved their record to 46-34, consolidating themselves in the fight for the top spots. The four-game series between New York and Atlanta will conclude on Thursday night.
The Mets are currently in second place in the National League, just behind the Phillies and with a solid 10-win lead over the Braves, who are in third place, so the New York team could take the lead if they continue at this pace.
