„Toto rozhodnutí jsme učinili po důkladném zvážení a vyhodnocení situace a s plným respektem k hokejové tradici v regionu i k historii společnosti HC Verva Litvínov, kterou jako majoritní vlastník po celou dobu jeho fungování podporujeme,“ uvedl v tiskovém prohlášení mluvčí společnosti Pavel Kaidl.
Orlen Unipetrol nyní vlastní 71 procent akcií klubu a mezi lety 2012 až 2024 podpořil Litvínov částkou 731 milionů korun, což je téměř 60 milionů ročně. Aktuálně platí, že zbylých 20 procent akcií litvínovského klubu drží město (je i majitelem ZS Ivana Hlinky), devět procent pak má sportovní spolek HC Litvínov. Ten vlastní i extraligovou licenci a zároveň provozuje mládež v klubu.
„Pro nadcházející sezonu 2025/2026 jsme zajistili společnost HC Verva Litvínov finančními prostředky v dostatečném objemu, vyšším než v předchozím ročníku, aby měla vytvořeny podmínky pro naplnění svých sportovních cílů,“ ujišťuje Orlen v tiskové zprávě.
„Rozhodnutí skupiny Orlen Unipetrol opustit pozici většinového vlastníka a generálního partnera plně respektujeme. Oceňujeme, že načasováním svého odchodu nám vytvořil dostatečný časový rámec pro jednání o zachování a budoucím rozvoji extraligového hokeje v Litvínově,“ prohlásil generální ředitel litvínovského klubu Pavel Hynek.
Pro Litvínov, který hraje tuzemskou nejvyšší soutěž nepřetržitě od roku 1959 a před deseti lety se poprvé stal jejím mistrem, je odchod jeho majoritního akcionáře velkou ranou. A fanoušci se děsí, co nastane příští rok, až chemička po 80 letech přestane v klubu působit. Logicky se nabízí i otázka, jestli extraliga v tradiční české hokejové baště, která vychovala řadu světových hvězd, bude pokračovat.
Orlen Unipetrol tvrdí, že svůj podíl v klubu je připraven převést případnému novému akcionáři. Aktivně se ale do hledání svého zástupce zapojovat nehodlá.
„Jsme však připraveni, v případě zájmu, jednat o převedení svého podílu buď stávajícím akcionářům, případně novému investoru, který bude konat ve shodě se stávajícími menšinovými akcionáři,“ doplnil Kaidl s tím, že současný majoritní akcionář je otevřený diskusím se stávajícími či novými akcionáři ohledně možností a rozsahu budoucího zapojení Orlenu do podpory v oblasti marketingové spolupráce s klubem.
Nastalá situace v litvínovském klubu se ve čtvrtek řešila i na zastupitelstvu. Starostka Kamila Bláhová prohlásila, že město je připraveno hokej i nadále podporovat.
Orlen na začátku května spolupráci s městem ocenil, rýpl si ale do jiného minoritního akcionáře klubu, spolku HC Litvínov. Podle informací Sport.cz nesl Orlen velmi nelibě, že extraligovou licencí nedisponuje on sám, ale právě spolek HC Litvínov.
„Vidíme jako klíčové, aby licence na extraligu byla v držení klubu a nikoliv sportovního spolku. Na jednáních jsme jasně deklarovali, že převod licence zpět do vlastnictví klubu je pro nás zcela zásadní věc,“ říkal před necelými dvěma měsíci generální ředitel a předseda představenstva skupiny Orlen Unipetrol Mariusz Wnuk.
K převodu licence nedošlo. Sportovní spolek HC Litvínov se jí zbavovat nechce, podle něj je její vlastnictví jednou z mála jistot udržení hokeje v Litvínově.
„Pro další vývoj setrvání extraligového hokeje v Litvínově bude klíčový postoj HC Litvínov, sportovní spolek jako subjektu vlastnící extraligovou licenci,“ dodává nyní Kaidl.
Během pátku zasedá valná hromada klubu a je stoprocentně jisté, že rozhodnutí Orlenu (s ohledem na jeho akcionářskou většinu) potvrdí.
