An English football manager has been given a six-game touchline ban for making sexist comments about women drivers.
Marc White — the manager of Dorking Wanderers, who play in the sixth tier of English football — made the remarks to the Under the Cosh podcast in January as he prepared to take charge of his 1,000th game at the club.

In response to a question about his disciplinary record, White said: “More women refs now, so you have to pay a bit more respect, do you know what I mean?
“You have to pay a bit more respect, like help them park.”
The English Football Association (FA) had charged White with behaving in an “improper manner” and using “abusive and/or insulting words” when charging White in May.
Dorking, based in Surrey, south of London, and a member of National League South, posted a message on X on Sunday confirming the suspension.

The FA’s original charge stated: “It is alleged that prior to a National League South fixture between Dorking Wanderers and Weston Super Mare on Saturday 18th January 2025, you acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words during an interview with ‘Under the Cosh’ contrary to FA Rule E3.1.
“It is further alleged that this breach of FA Rule E3.1 is an “Aggravated Breach”, as defined in FA Rule E3.2, as it includes a reference, whether express or implied to gender.”
Dorking finished sixth in the National League South in 2024-25, reaching the playoffs but losing in the quarter-finals to Boreham Wood who eventually gained promotion to the National League.
White has cultivated a controversial reputation during his time in charge of Dorking, regularly attracting sanctions from the football authorities.
In the same interview with Under the Cosh he said he had been banned from 12 stadiums due to his behaviour.
In 2023, in a separate interview on the same podcast, he criticised what he saw as over-zealous policing of managers’ behaviour by the FA.

He said: “The FA are transitioning from traffic wardens to a Gestapo or something. Everything’s about suspensions, bans and fines.
“I think if you’re going to do it, be a mascot. Because everyone’s scared of the f***ers, aren’t they?
“People told me for the last game: ‘Marc go and sit in the corner dressed as the Dorking cockerel, no one will go near you.”
