The speed at which news about Shedeur Sanders spreads can be matched by the speed that’s causing him trouble even before playing a single snap in the NFL. The quarterback, selected by the Cleveland Browns, has landed in serious trouble after receiving two speeding tickets and failing to appear in court-a situation that could put him in a bad light with critics eager to pounce on any misstep.

And perhaps this is exactly what’s happening. While the former Colorado Buffaloes player competes to become the starting quarterback within the organization, he’s become a target for negative comments.
A harsh critique of Shedeur Sanders, with little room for defense
Justice Hill from Cleveland.com didn’t hold back his opinion on Shedeur Sanders, even stating that he doesn’t believe the player should be allowed to drive at this point.
“To me, Shedeur Sanders should lose the right to use our roads. He’s rich, and he can Uber anywhere he might want to go. People shouldn’t trust him to take his lead foot off the pedal. I know I won’t,” Hill wrote. “For now, I’ll withhold judgment about his football ability. I won’t, however, withhold my judgment about his driving. The judge who handled his second traffic citation should have taken away his driver’s license. The man should’ve lost the privilege of driving on our streets.”
Sanders received fines for driving over 100 miles per hour on two occasions within a two-week period, a situation that leaves him in a precarious position and could lead many to support the drastic measures Hill advocates for.
Under this scenario, it seems unlikely that Shedeur will lose his license for now, as long as he avoids further speeding violations. However, it’s clear that he needs to be much more careful with his reputation, or should have been for some time.
Within the Cleveland Browns, a fierce battle is underway for the starting quarterback position, where Shedeur Sanders is not the favorite to lead the team’s offense in Week 1 of the NFL. Veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett appear to have the edge in taking on the responsibility, and these off-field indiscretions are doing the rookie more harm than good.
