Die Brasilianer lagen nach zehn Minuten schon 0:2 zurück, kämpften sich zwar zweimal heran, doch Bayern war stets Herr der Lage und steht nun im Viertelfinale – wo der Champions-League-Sieger Paris Saint-Germain wartet.
Filipe Luis, Ex-Profi von Atlético Madrid, wurde nach dem Spiel sehr deutlich: „Der Druck, den sie aufbauen, ist enorm. Sie kommen mit acht, zehn Spielern angerannt. Sie haben verdient gewonnen.“
Zwar habe der Matchplan der Brasilianer grundsätzlich funktioniert – Flamengo setzte Bayern unter Druck und kam zu Chancen – „aber sie waren besser als wir. Wir spielen gegen die Fußball-Elite. Wäre Vinicius Junior nicht zu Real Madrid gewechselt, hätten wir heute vielleicht den besten Spieler der Welt.“
Sein Fazit: „Unsere Spieler wollen zur Elite gehören – und viele gehören dazu. Aber es ist ein Fakt, dass die Europäer die besseren haben.
