Lamar Jackson continues to solidify his place on the NFL stage. While the stars may not yet have aligned for him to become a champion, his undeniable talent suggests that moment could be on the horizon.
The AFC is packed with powerhouses, making the road to the Super Bowl especially grueling. Facing off against Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills, Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs, Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals, and just a step below, Justin Herbert’s Los Angeles Chargers, is no easy task.

But despite all that competition, the Baltimore Ravens boast one of the most dynamic and electric offensive weapons in the league today: Lamar Jackson, who has firmly established himself as one of the top quarterbacks of his generation.
Everything is now ‘easier’
In a recent poll conducted by SB Nation, which asked 13 NFL experts to rank the 30 greatest quarterbacks of all time, Ravens signal-caller Lamar Jackson came in at number 23 on the composite list.
Among the remarks considered for the poll was this:
For years, the NFL was waiting for a player like Lamar Jackson to come along-a true dual-threat quarterback that could dominate both on the ground and through the air”… “Players like Michael Vick hinted at what was possible, and Cam Newton was able to put together one elite MVP season, but Lamar Jackson is the first player to sustain it… Special athletes have played the quarterback position before, but none have been as effective and efficient at passing the football as Jackson.
Commented Sam Monson of The 33rd Team.
Jackson has said the pace of the game is slowing down for him, a claim that signals he’s poised for a major run this season whether with his arm or his legs, which in the past have helped him rack up huge yardage in crucial moments leading into the postseason.
I’ve been getting older in the league, my mindset has been different and the game has gotten a lot easier for me.
Numbers that intimidate any opponent
At just 28 years old, Jackson holds the record for the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single season, with 1,206. That milestone is even more impressive considering he set it during his rookie campaign in 2019, the same year he was named league MVP.
While his legs remain a lethal weapon especially when under pressure or forced to improvise-his arm has proven equally effective. Last season, he threw for 4,172 yards and just four interceptions. That level of efficiency is what made Jackson so dominant in 2024.
“We’re extremely close,” Jackson said of the team’s proximity to winning a Super Bowl. And indeed, the Ravens may only need a few adjustments on offense and a return to the kind of dominant defense they had during the Ray Lewis era to finally achieve that goal.
