Endspiel-Atmosphäre schon im Viertelfinale: Bayern gegen PSG!
Nach einem intensiven Achtelfinale gegen Flamengo steht der FC Bayern München vor dem nächsten großen Härtetest bei der Klub-WM: Im Viertelfinale wartet kein Geringerer als Paris Saint-Germain – der amtierende Sieger der Champions League. Der Weg in die Runde der letzten Acht war für die Münchner alles andere als ein Spaziergang. Bei schwül-heißen Bedingungen in Miami setzten sich die Bayern in einem wilden Spiel mit 4:2 gegen Brasiliens Topteam durch. Besonders Harry Kane (31) glänzte als Doppeltorschütze. Der Stürmer zeigte sich nach dem Spiel erleichtert: „Es war schwierig, Flamengo ist eine richtig gute Mannschaft, die Bedingungen waren hart.“
[–>Dort wartet nun mit PSG der womöglich schwerstmögliche Gegner. Das Team von Trainer Luis Enrique (55) fegte Inter Miami mit 4:0 aus dem Turnier und demonstrierte eindrucksvoll seine Klasse. Schon in der Gruppenphase setzten die Pariser mit einem 4:0 gegen Atlético Madrid und einem 2:0 gegen die Seattle Sounders deutliche Zeichen, auch wenn ein Ausrutscher beim 0:1 gegen Botafogo kleine Schwächen offenbarte.
Paris Saint-Germain ist mit dem Champions-League-Titel im Rücken aktuell das Maß aller Dinge im internationalen Vereinsfußball. Nach vielen Jahren des Wartens auf den ganz großen Triumph in Europa – trotz namhafter Stars und Investitionen in Milliardenhöhe – hat der Klub aus der französischen Hauptstadt endlich sein großes Ziel erreicht. Nun soll die Klub-WM die Krönung einer ohnehin glanzvollen Saison werden.

Für Legende Thomas Müller (35) könnte es das letzte Spiel im Bayern-Trikot sein, bevor er den Klub nach dem Turnier verlässt. Leroy Sané (29) hingegen hat sich bereits verabschiedet – er wechselt zu Galatasaray.

Saints agree to 10-year extension to remain in New Orleans through 2035
The New Orleans Saints aren't going anywhere. On Thursday, the Saints announced that they had signed a 10-year lease extension to continue to play at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans through 2035. The Saints have been playing in the Superdome since 1975, and team owner Gayle Benson revealed that she had been working on this deal with the city for quite some time. "Discussions about this agreement have spanned two administrations, a global pandemic and Hurricane Ida," Benson said, via the Saints' official website.
