Doch es halten sich hartnäckige Gerüchte, dass Runarsson Leipzig verlassen will und am Ende auch wird. Nachdem er seinem Vater und Trainer Runar Sigtryggsson im Jahr 2023 nach Sachsen folgte und der am Saisonende entlassen wurde, hält ihn offenbar nicht mehr allzu viel in Leipzig.

Nach Informationen von SPORT BILD zeigt unter anderem Bundesliga-Rivale HC Erlangen großes Interesse. Mit den Ex-Leipzigern Macej Gebala und Viggo Kristjansson wurden da in der letzten Saison bereits gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Folgt nun auch Runarsson?

Der Isländer hat beim SC DHfK noch Vertrag bis 2026. Deshalb wird ihn Leipzig nicht zum Nulltarif gehen lassen. Aber einen unzufriedenen Spieler auf Biegen und Brechen halten zu wollen, würde auch nichts bringen.
Tendenz: Man wird sich wohl irgendwie einigen und Runarsson, der ohne seinen Vater wahrscheinlich nie in Leipzig gelandet wäre, keine großen Steine in den Weg legen.

Bliebe nur Rückraumshooter Matej Klima, den man in der neuen Saison zum Regisseur umfunktionieren will. Doch auch bei ihm bleibt offen, wann er nach seiner schweren Knieverletzung wieder voll einsatzfähig sein wird.
