The catastrophic floods in Texas have left a heartbreaking trail of destruction-hundreds dead or missing, communities in ruins, and damages worth millions. As the state grapples with the aftermath, athletes, celebrities, and major league teams are stepping up to help. Among them is Arch Manning, the rising star quarterback for the Texas Longhorns.
Last week, torrential rains triggered deadly flooding across Central Texas. Entire towns were submerged, and a hiking camp along the swollen Guadalupe River was devastated, leaving 108 confirmed dead-including dozens of children-while rescue teams continue to search for the missing.
As relief efforts intensify, support is pouring in. The Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets have all pledged millions in donations. And now, young Arch Manning has added his voice-and his wallet-to the cause.
Arch Manning’s emotional message and call to action
In a short but heartfelt Instagram video posted this morning, Manning announced donations to four humanitarian organizations and encouraged his fans to follow suit.
“Hey everyone, this is Arch Manning. The flooding in Central Texas has devastated communities and caused enormous loss,” he said. “My heart goes out to everyone affected. Please join me in donating to the four organizations listed below, who are providing vital support as recovery efforts get underway. Thank you.”
In the video’s caption, he shared links to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, Texas Search and Rescue, Mercy Chefs, and the United Cajun Navy-nonprofits helping with search and rescue operations and providing urgent aid to flood victims.
Football returns, but the pain remains
Meanwhile, Manning continues his preseason grind with the Longhorns, preparing to step into the spotlight as starting quarterback for the first time. After a standout performance backing up Quinn Ewers last season, all eyes are on Arch this fall.
Texas kicks off the 2025 season on August 30 with a high-stakes opener at Ohio State. For a state still reeling from loss, that game could offer a much-needed distraction-and maybe even a little hope.
