Das hatten sich die deutschen Frauen bei der Beachhandball-EM in der Türkei sicher anders vorgestellt. Nach zwei souveränen Siegen unterliegt das DHB-Team Dänemark knapp mit 1:2 (14:15, 23:28, 4:7) und nimmt in die Hauptrunde nun nur zwei Punkte statt vier mit.
Die deutschen Titelverteidigerinnen kommen schwer in die Partie gegen Mit-Favorit Dänemark. Vor allem bringt sich die Mannschaft um das Kapitänin-Duo, Kirsten Walter (29) und Lucie-Marie Kretzschmar (24), durch viele Fehlwürfe immer wieder selbst in Schwierigkeiten.

In der ersten Hälfte hat die Mannschaft von Bundestrainer Alexander Novakovic (41) den ersten Satz (so heißen im Beachhandball die zwei 10-Minuten-Halbzeiten) schon fast gewonnen, doch die Däninnen treffen mit Golden Goal zum 15:14 – bitter.

Kurios: Das Spiel wird mit Schnick, Schnack, Schnuck entschieden. Denn beide Kapitäne müssen, bevor es losgeht, ein Startteam ermitteln. Eine Münze wie beim Fußball vor dem Elfmeterschießen werfen die portugiesischen Schiedsrichterinnen nicht.

So schwingen die Dänin Emma Morgensen und Deutschlands Kirsten Walter im Duell die Hände mit Stein, Schere, Papier. Am Ende beginnt Dänemark. Jede Mannschaft muss fünf Werferinnen bestimmen. Die werden mit einem langen Pass aus dem Torraum bedient und müssen auf der anderen Seite gegen eine Torhüterin den Ball versenken. Auch hier gibt es für Dreher oder Kempa-Tricks zwei Punkte für ein Tor. Die DHB-Girls hadern wieder mit ihrer Abschlussschwäche, unterliegen im Shot out klar 4:7.

Schon Mittwoch geht es mit einem zweiten Spiel weiter: 19 Uhr gegen Portugal, am Donnerstag 16 Uhr gegen Frankreich und am Freitag 9.30 Uhr gegen Norwegen. Alle Spiele werden vom Streamingdienst Dyn live übertragen.
