Ein Jahr Haft für einen der erfolgreichsten Fußballtrainer der Welt!
Carlo Ancelotti (66), Ex-Coach von Real Madrid und aktueller Nationaltrainer Brasiliens, ist in Spanien wegen Steuerhinterziehung verurteilt worden. Ein Gericht in Madrid verhängte am Mittwoch eine einjährige Freiheitsstrafe sowie eine Geldstrafe in Höhe von 386.361 Euro.
Doch: Ancelotti muss nicht ins Gefängnis. Da die Haftstrafe unter zwei Jahren liegt, wird er sie gemäß den in Spanien geltenden Regelungen nicht antreten müssen. Das Urteil ist noch nicht rechtskräftig, es kann dagegen Berufung eingelegt werden.
[–>Der Vorwurf: Ancelotti soll in den Jahren 2014 und 2015 mehr als eine Million Euro an Steuern hinterzogen haben. Laut Staatsanwaltschaft gab er damals zwar sein Gehalt bei Real Madrid korrekt an – verschwieg aber große Summen aus Bildrechten, die er über ein „komplexes und verwirrendes System“ aus ausländischen Briefkastenfirmen schleuste.
Bei der mündlichen Verhandlung Anfang April in Madrid hatte Ancelotti vor Gericht beteuert, er habe niemals die Absicht gehabt, den Staat zu betrügen. Er habe sich auf die Empfehlungen seines Vereins und seiner Berater verlassen. Die Steuerforderungen habe er bereits im Dezember 2021 vollständig beglichen.
Das Gericht befand jedoch: Im Steuerjahr 2014 handelte Ancelotti „bewusst“ unehrlich. Für das Jahr 2015 wurde er freigesprochen.

Der Fall reiht sich ein in eine ganze Serie prominenter Steuerprozesse im spanischen Fußball: Auch Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi und José Mourinho mussten sich bereits vor Gericht verantworten – alle wurden verurteilt, jedoch nicht inhaftiert.
Ancelotti hatte Real Madrid erstmals von 2013 bis 2015 trainiert, nach Stationen bei Bayern München, der SSC Neapel und dem FC Everton übernahm er bei Real Madrid wieder 2021. Er gewann als Trainer fünfmal die Champions League und ist damit Rekordhalter. Im Mai verließ Ancelotti Madrid und wurde brasilianischer Nationaltrainer.
