The Cleveland Browns receive a brutal prediction that could mark the end for Shedeur Sanders as an NFL Quarterback

Last season, the Cleveland Browns were the second-worst team in the NFL-only ahead of the Tennessee Titans, who finished in last place. The Browns ended the year with a 3-14 record, a season to forget, especially considering that just a year earlier, they had made the playoffs thanks to a strong finish led by Joe Flacco, who is now back with the team.

Shedeur Sanders set the alarms off inside the Browns after a disappointing performance

With that record, the Browns secured the second overall pick in the draft. However, in a surprising move on draft day, they traded that pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who used it to select Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. Cleveland, instead, used the fifth overall pick to select Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham and also acquired Jacksonville’s 2026 first-round pick.

So, the Cleveland Browns now have significant draft capital for 2026-two first-round picks-and the goal is clear: a quarterback. That means that although there’s currently a competition for the starting job between Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and possibly rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, it seems like this season could be a one-year stopgap for all of them.

The Browns receive a grim forecast

Back in 2023, the Cleveland Browns finished the regular season with four straight wins, ending at 11-6 and earning a playoff berth. But that now feels like ancient history-everything has since collapsed.

The Browns are an unstable team. Defensively, with Myles Garrett, they seem competitive. But offensively, it’s a mess. There’s no clear direction at quarterback, no standout running back, and aside from Jerry Jeudy, no reliable receivers. That’s why Bleacher Report projected that Cleveland will be the worst team in the AFC North.

“The Browns will remain in the AFC North cellar, with an eye on quarterbacks next year,” wrote Moe Moton of Bleacher Report.

He also suggested that whoever starts at quarterback in Week 1 will immediately suffer due to all the problems on that side of the ball.

“Whoever starts at quarterback will experience his fair share of struggles behind an offensive line with two unreliable tackles. In addition to the pocket pressure Browns signal-callers could face, the offense only features one established receiver, Jerry Jeudy.”

So, if these predictions come true, the Cleveland Browns, with two first-round picks, will be in a good position to select their future quarterback in the 2026 Draft, which is expected to feature plenty of talent.
