Last season, the Colorado Buffaloes surprised many by becoming one of the most notable revelations in college football. Under the leadership of Deion Sanders, who turned Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders into stars, the team finished the year with a 7-2 record in the Big 12 and a bowl game against BYU, which ended in a loss. However, Deion brought life back to the program.

As often happens with successful programs, several key players left for the NFL. Among them were quarterback Shedeur Sanders, selected by the Cleveland Browns, and the versatile Travis Hunter, picked by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Deion Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, continues working to establish himself as one of the top coaches in the NCAA-and, above all, hopes to eventually be given a shot to lead an NFL team, which, if things keep progressing, seems likely.

A health issue won’t stop Deion Sanders from continuing to succeed with Colorado
This NCAA offseason has been especially tough for Deion Sanders. He watched his son, once considered a first-round prospect, fall to the fifth round in the recent NFL Draft. In addition, Deion has dealt with various health problems. Still, he remains completely focused on the upcoming college season.
“God is good,” said Deion. “I’m not here to talk about my health, I’m here to talk about my team. … We want to win. We want to win at all costs.”
At 57 years old, Deion Sanders has put his health challenges behind him and is fully committed to finding success again with the Colorado Buffaloes. He also acknowledged that there are new players on the team he hasn’t even met yet.
“I’m back. I’m here today. I’m fulfilling my responsibilities. So I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait,” Sanders told Pete Thamel of ESPN. “You’ve got to understand, there are some young guys I haven’t even met yet.”
Now without Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes will kick off the new season on August 29 against Georgia Tech.
