One of the teams to watch in 2025 is undoubtedly the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s fair to say that ever since Derek Carr left the team, the Raiders have been one of the most unstable franchises in the NFL. However, things now appear to be headed in the right direction-several changes were made, and motivation has returned among both the players and fans.
Travis Kelce could be set up in a well-intentioned trap by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs
John Spytek arrived as the new General Manager of the Raiders. Previously, he was the assistant GM with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he built a strong relationship with Tom Brady, and was part of the team that beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl a few years ago. He’s now looking to replicate that success in Las Vegas.
His first decision was to appoint Pete Carroll as the new Head Coach of the team. Carroll will turn 74 in September, and despite his age, he is a genius at managing locker rooms and, more importantly, transforming a losing culture into a winning one-as he did with the Seattle Seahawks, where he won a Super Bowl. He’ll now try to do the same with the Raiders.

The Raiders have in Maxx Crosby one of the best defenders in the league
This year, the Raiders have strengthened their offense, especially with high-profile players like Geno Smith, who will be the team’s new quarterback, and Ashton Jeanty, a first-round draft pick at running back who has been compared to Saquon Barkley.
Despite the new names, the true leader of this team is defensive end Maxx Crosby, the fan favorite in Las Vegas. In six seasons in the league, Crosby has racked up 59.5 sacks, 105 tackles for loss, and nine forced fumbles.
Crosby is undoubtedly an elite edge rusher-perhaps he doesn’t get the same spotlight as others, but the numbers don’t lie. According to an analysis and poll by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Crosby ranks No. 4 at his position in the entire league.
“Crosby is making waves in the pass-rush pantheon, vaulting one spot in each of the past three years,” wrote Fowler. “Outdistancing Nick Bosa and stealing votes from Watt and Parsons is tough. Nearly half of Crosby’s votes landed in the top three.”
In ESPN’s rankings, Crosby trailed only Myles Garrett (Browns), T.J. Watt (Steelers), and Micah Parsons (Cowboys).
