Now retired after nearly a decade in the NFL, the 34-year-old quarterback is embracing a new chapter in life. He leaves behind a legacy of leadership, loyalty, and resilience, qualities that defined his time with the Raiders.
Now, he is trying new stuff to keep him active, and in these trials, he opened a YouTube Channel called Home Grown, that he talked with his brother and former NFL QB, David. In that channel, Derek has the opportunity to share some of his experienced of being a professional football player.
In a recent episode titled “Derek Carr Ranks the NFL’s Toughest Stadiums,” Carr reflected on the loyalty of Raiders fans who supported him throughout his career. “You played on literally cement half the year, and the crowd was the best crowd in all of the world,” and he added, “And it was the Oakland Coliseum.” Emphasizing that he chose Oakland over Las Vegas.
“We would even have some of our struggling years, good teams would come in, and we’d beat ’em. And it was because of the atmosphere in the Coliseum and the fans right there in Oakland.” He highlighted the crowd of Oakland.

Carr also praised Kansas City Chiefs fans, calling Arrowhead Stadium one of the loudest and most intimidating venues in the NFL fans, noting that their stadium is known as one of the loudest in the country. He acknowledged the intensity and atmosphere they created, calling it one of the toughest places to play in the NFL, putting the Chiefs home crowd in second place.
He ranked Seattle third, citing the Seahawks’ iconic “12th Man” fan culture as a defining feature of their home-field advantage that followed their team in every place and every moment. Their unwavering support at home or on the road has made Seattle one of the most intimidating environments for visiting teams.
The Las Vegas Raiders are set to begin a new season, aiming to improve on last year’s performance and showcase a stronger level of play. Their first challenge comes against the New England Patriots at Allegiant Stadium, where the team will look to draw strength from their home crowd’s support.
