Nevertheless, Lara Beth Seager, Doncic’s manager, spoke with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne about the admiration and respect the former Mavericks star has for LeBron James.
“Championships are won when you work together. We all share that same goal,” she said, and added that, “Luka loves playing with LeBron and has learned so much from him. He has nothing but the utmost respect for LeBron and considers it an honor to be his teammate.” Lara said in her interview.
With LeBron’s future uncertain, Doncic becomes the Lakers’ star
Many NBA analysts and experts have discussed the opportunity that awaits Luka Doncic with the Lakers, especially if LeBron James ultimately decides to leave the team. Some have even suggested that the Lakers should begin building a team around the Slovenian star, preparing for a future where the Slovenian star becomes the franchise centerpiece.
Lara also addressed that topic, emphasizing the strong support Doncic has received from the Lakers organization. “The Lakers leadership team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive of Luka since we arrived in L.A.,” she said. “We’ve spent a lot of time talking and getting to know each other over the last few months, and we’ve formed a strong working relationship.” She concluded.
For now, the only certainty is that Luka Doncic will remain with the Purple and Gold for at least one more season, where he will fight with the franchise to achieve a new NBA title, something that they haven’t achieved since 2020.
