TSV Hannover-Burgdorf
Rund 90 Minuten musste die TSV Hannover-Burgdorf aus der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga auf ihren Gegner warten. In der Wiener Zentrale der Europäischen Handballföderation (EHF) wurden Dienstagmittag die Qualifikations-Partien für die European League ausgelost.
Die beiden Offiziellen der EHF, Markus Glaser (Chief Sports Officer) und Martin Hausleitner (Secretary General/Chief Operating Officer), losten die Qualifikationsrunden für den European Cup und die European League aus. Sowohl bei den Frauen als auch bei den Männern. Für Hannover-Burgdorf kam der HC Alkaloid (Nordmazedonien) als Quali-Gegner aus Lostopf 2.

Handball-Klub muss in den Hexenkessel
Der HC Alkaloid ist in Skopje beheimatet, seine Fans gelten als heißblütig, Ende Mai produzierte der Dritte der abgelaufenen Saison der Superleague in Nordmazedonien Schlagzeilen im Finale des European Cups gegen AEK Athen.
Damals weigerte sich Athen, im Rückspiel in Skopje anzutreten, weil ein Großteil griechischer Fans angeblich nicht zum Spiel anreisen durfte und nicht genug Gäste-Tickets freigegeben worden sein sollen.
Folge: Die EHF erklärte den HC Alkaloid zum Wettbewerbs-Sieger, legte aber auch eine Geldstrafe (5000 Euro) fest. Begründung: „Durch die unzureichende Bereitstellung von Eintrittskarten verstieß Alkaloid gegen die einschlägigen EHF-Regeln.“

„Bei der Auswärtsreise im Rückspiel erwartet uns ein sprichwörtliches K.o.-Spiel. Daher wollen wir mit unseren heimischen Fans eine gute Ausgangslage erspielen und hannoversche Europapokalatmosphäre kreieren.“
Das Hinspiel steigt am 30. oder 31. August, als Spielort geht die Tendenz zur Swiss-Life-Hall (4400 Plätze). Das Rückspiel in Skopje wird am 6. oder 7. September angeworfen. Die Vorrundengruppen werden am Freitag in Wien ausgelost, dann mit den weiteren deutschen Klubs THW Kiel, SG Flensburg-Handewitt und MT Melsungen in den Lostöpfen.
