Some suggest caution to LeBron leaving LA
Not all voices are rushing to suggest LeBron leaves LA. NBA insider Marc J. Spears argued that the Lakers should stick with their current plan, noting that, “patience is best for LeBron now”, especially following the mid-season Luka Doncic trade that saw LA go 20-12 post-deal. Spears’ take is rooted in the idea that the Lakers’ evolving chemistry, bolstered by the Doncic addition, still warrants a wait-and-see approach.
LeBron’s broker, Rich Paul, confirmed they haven’t formally requested an extension, giving the Lakers time, through the 2025-26 season and into 2026 free agency, to make decisive moves. If the front office doesn’t act, Haslem’s hints could start to shape LeBron’s exit strategy.
