Few would argue that Caitlin Clark is the best thing to happen to the WNBA in years. The Indiana Fever guard burst into the league in 2024, bringing with her a massive fanbase that sent ratings soaring to unprecedented heights. Yet, just days before the All-Star Game, the league has seemingly delivered a stunning snub.
Over the years, All-Star Weekend has grown from a modest midseason game into a blockbuster event filled with fans, celebrities, and high-profile media coverage.
This year, the Indiana Fever will host All-Star Weekend for the first time. Clark, now a two-time All-Star, has been named team captain-but despite her rising stardom, she’s conspicuously absent from one of the weekend’s biggest promotional moments.
Where’s Caitlin Clark?
For the first time ever, ABC’s flagship show Good Morning America will broadcast live from the host city of the WNBA All-Star Game. Robin Roberts is set to anchor the show from the venue, interviewing stars like Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, and rookie sensation Paige Bueckers.
This marks GMA’s first trip outside its new Hudson Square studio. And yet, there’s still no official confirmation that Caitlin Clark will appear on the show.
“Several members of the Indiana Fever are expected to join Roberts,” reported Front Office Sports journalist Annie Costabile. “But two-time All-Star Caitlin Clark has not yet been officially confirmed.”
Her absence would be glaring. After all, last year’s All-Star Game-where Clark was featured prominently-reached a record-breaking peak audience of 3.4 million viewers.
Fans still holding out hope
Clark’s fans-and much of the media-aren’t giving up just yet. While her appearance hasn’t been confirmed, there hasn’t been a full denial either. Given the scale of this year’s All-Star promotion, it’s hard to believe the league would leave its biggest draw on the sidelines.
As the GMA lineup finalizes, both the East and West teams are prepping to deliver a showdown for the ages-and whether she’s on the air or not, Caitlin Clark will undoubtedly be the talk of the weekend.
