Jenže v posledních dvou letech sešel z očí veřejnosti.Předloňskou sezonu se vrátil do Bostonu, ale odehrál jen čtyři zápasy. V polovině listopadu jej totiž zadržela policie s podezřením, že se dopustil násilí na své partnerce. Podle policejní zprávy byl obviněn z pokusu o uškrcení své manželky.Hokej pro něj v tu chvíli skončil. V únoru loňského roku bylo sice obvinění staženo, ale Lucic nastoupil do asistenčního programu NHL a v lize se od té doby neobjevil.
