Bei den Bayern soll Kratzer in erster Linie den Ausfall von Routinier Elias Harris (36/Sehnenriss im Knie) auffangen – ein Ersatz für Booker wird noch folgen. Kratzer betont aber: „Ich möchte zeigen, dass ich weiter einer der besten Center der Liga bin.“
Das sieht auch Bayern-Sportchef Dragan Tarlac so: „Leon ist ein erfahrener, mobiler Big Man, der uns gerade in der Verteidigung viel Präsenz beim Rebound geben wird. Er liefert dir auch in der Offense viele kleine Dinge, die in den Stats nicht auftauchen, und er wird sich als für Viele vertrautes Gesicht schnell in die Mannschaft einfügen.“
